To keep potential attackers from getting confused, the presidential motorcade is accompanied by two Beasts.
On September 24, President Donald Trump will address the United Nations. He’ll be using the new Beast Limo to get there. The President still used his old car at the summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in June. The Commander-in-Chief’s new route to Manhattan was seen for the first time by most people.
Modern Cadillac styling is evident in the new Beast, with headlights that descend from the front of the vehicle’s fenders to the rear. The grille is topped by a tiny version of the brand badge. This overall aesthetic is much more sleek than the very upright proportions of President Obama’s old limo.
The modified chassis of a Chevrolet medium-duty truck is hidden beneath the Cadillac-inspired skin. The President is protected by tons of armor, which pushes the Beast’s mass to between 15,000 and 20,000 pounds (6 800 to 9,000 kg). To keep potential attackers away, the Secret Service keeps the limousine’s equipment secret. These features include a fire suppression system and night vision camera. A tear gas launcher is also included. Additionally, the vehicle has a sealed cabin with air filtering. The chaff emitter can be used to stop an attempted missile attack. In case of an emergency, the President’s blood type can be kept onboard so that first aid can be started immediately. The Commander-in-Chief has access to highly encrypted communications equipment so he is always in touch. You may also have top-secret capabilities.
This video shows that the President’s huge motorcade actually contains two Beasts and both seem to have Trump inside. This is another way to prevent attacks, as a bad guy wouldn’t know which one he should pursue.
According to the Secret Service, it intends to start using the new Beast by late summer 2018. This video shows that the rollout went according to plan.
