It already looks promising.
The 2021 IAA at Munich has been making headlines over the past two days with the debuts of new concepts as well as production vehicles. We have received new spy photos of the next-generation BMW 5 Series. These prototypes were actually spotted in Munich, which is close to the venues hosting the show.
The provisional lights on the front and back of the test cars captured here are still visible. Although both machines are plug-in hybrid models, the camouflage is identical. The other is traditional combustion-powered. The interior is heavily concealed and can only be seen through the driver’s side window.
We believe that the next-gen 5 Series will incorporate the same tech as the iX SUV, with more BMW models now getting the latest iDrive system. Two large screens with updated software and new functions will dominate the dashboard. It’s too soon to test the model on the road without the interior.
The new 5 Series will offer a variety of engine options, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric. The PHEV and other EV models will see the most innovation and upgrades. Electrification will be the main focus. The gallery shows a PHEV and a combustion engine.
This rendering shows the final design for the premium sedan from Bavaria. It combines everything we have seen so far from the research-and-development phase of the new 5er. The rendering shows the new front end with sleeker headlights and larger dimensions.
