This isn’t the first leakage of the G87 M2.
The 2023 BMW M2 could not have come sooner. Since last year, the German marque has kept the new model secret and even released teasers earlier in this year.
It seems that BMW could not keep the M2 from being viewed by internet users. An Instagram photo by @wilcoblok shows a rear view of a BMW M2. It also includes details about the coupe’s back. The image was taken by @bmw_m_collector who is a fan and user of BMW M cars.
The M2 rear photo shows that the taillights appear to be following the proportions of the outgoing model’s lamps. This is in contrast to the M3 and M4’s narrower styling. The vertical reflector is still in place, and the quad tailpipes can barely be seen in leaked photos. The taillamps’ shape has been redesigned, as well as the LED graphics.
The BMW M2’s design was leaked online before. The M2’s front bumper was leaked online last year via Instagram. It shows a squared-off grille with corner intakes and a compact coupe.
The leaked front bumper is still aligned with spy photos and teasers. This suggests that renderings from the leakage may be very close to the actual thing. These leakages should be taken with a healthy dose skepticism.
This year, the 2023 BMW M2 will be unveiled. Although early reports suggested that the 2023 BMW M2 would debut at this month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, a new official announcement has confirmed otherwise. Instead, the all new BMW M3 Touring, along with the M4 CSL, will grace Goodwood’s famous hill climbs.
