It can’t beat a tuned 911 Turbo S.
German tuners now own one of the most powerful BMW M5s, if it is not the strongest, from the F90 generation. Their version of the vehicle produces 720 horsepower (537 kW) and is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 turbo under the hood. A new YouTube video shows the super sedan with Swiss registration plates racing a Porsche 911 Turbo S at a German drag race. The 0-62mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration takes just three seconds or less. Although we don’t have the exact times, the 911 Turbo S seems to be slightly faster on the drag strip.
It is amazing that tuners are already working to create the first M5 with AWD. Usually, it takes specialists a while to research, tune, and test a new project. The key to success is the fact that the M5’s new 4.4-liter V8 engine, although modified slightly, still powers the vehicle. This makes it much easier for engineers and technicians to create new software and hardware for biturbo motors. The M5 Competition, which has 617 horsepower (460 kW) and a wider peak torque range than the regular M5, is the best option if you prefer to go the stock route. Gorilla Performance’s M5 Competition, the most tuned M5 F90 ever built, will show us that BMW’s V8 still has plenty of potential. We are eager to see what the German company has in store for it.
