The New BMW X5 M has been Renewed by Someone!

The Internet never sleeps

A rendering of the full-fat M version of the fourth-generation BMW X5 has been posted on the internets immediately after Tuesday’s unveiling. Aksyonov Nikita created this digital rendering of the fourth-generation X5 range topper. It’s clear that he used the M2 Competition to inspire him when he worked in Photoshop.

The large alloy wheels with intricate designs were taken from the most recent two-door M car, from which the hypothetical X5 M also inherits the front bumper design. The M-specific quad exhaust tips are not available on the midsize SAV. Instead, it has a pair wide finishers that flank a sporty diffuser.

The next iteration, codenamed F95 of the X5 M, has already been seen in testing and is expected to make it into production before the end the decade. Considering that the regular X5 was revealed just last week, it’s likely we will have to wait patiently for the flagship model to be released in 2019.

The newest version of BMW’s biturbo-4.4-liter V8 engine will be the crown jewel of this range, sitting atop the X5 and X5M50i derivatives. The M5 will produce 600 horsepower, which is an educated guess. BMW M suggests SUVs could get Competition Packages. This might indicate that the Bavarians are preparing one for X5. If this is true, it’s possible that it will be comparable to the 617-hp M5 competition in terms of power and other upgrades.

Although the actual product will not look exactly the same as the rendering, it gives us an idea about what the 2020 BMW X5 M might look like.
