Standard version starting at $1,800. The more powerful version starts at $2,200.
Porsche has been around for years and is a regular player in the smartphone market. The company’s design division has been making versions of its Mate series phones for many years. The Mate 10, a Huawei-based smartphone, was released in 2017 at a price of EUR1,395 ($1,500). But now the new high-tech RS model from the marque is available… and it’s even more costly.
Porsche expects buyers to pay nearly $2,000 for its cheapest Mate RS version, which is essentially a modified version of Huawei’s P20 Pro smartphone. Porsche branding has been applied. The asking price is EUR1,550 ($1,800 U.S.). Buyers may be more inclined to choose it over the standard Huawei because of its unique features.
Leica’s centrally mounted camera lens is the most distinctive new element. The Huawei tri-camera implementation includes a 40MP RGB sensor and a 20MP monochrome sensors. There is also an 8MP telephoto lens. The standard model comes with 256 GB storage while the more expensive ($2,200) has 512 GB. The new FullView OLED display is 6.0 inches in size and features wireless charging, a resolution of 2880×1440, and Porsche Design branding.
It is the ” 911 GT3RS” smartphone. Porsche has already launched a range of accessories that can be used with the phone, including some expensive, but optional, accessories. The new Porsche Design Huawei smartwatch can be paired with a set Bluetooth headphones from Porsche Design (250), a Porsche Design Bluetooth speaker (380), and other accessories. The new Porsche Design Mate RS will go on sale in red or black starting April 12th.
