The Next-Gen Toyota Sequoia is Teased With A View Of The Rear Pillar

Toyota claims that the debut will be soon.

Toyota has posted a tweet that gives us a glimpse at the next-generation Sequoia. This SUV’s current version was first introduced in 2007. It is definitely time to update.

The teaser below only shows the rear pillar and does not provide any other information. The lines give the new Sequoia a straight, angular appearance.

The new Sequoia design appears to have been inspired by the Toyota Land Cruiser. Although the Land Cruiser has thicker D-pillars, both models have an upward kink at their base.

Although the front of the new Sequoia remains a mystery, we expect similarities with the new Tundra which rides on the same platform. It would have a huge grille covering the nose, and Y-shaped headlights.

The large footprint inside means plenty of space for the three rows. Because of the tiny infotainment display, the current Sequoia cabin looks outdated. As a guide, the Tundra will show you a display available that can measure up to 14.0 in or 8.0 in.

Look out for the Tundra’s powertrains. Standard equipment includes a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine with 389 horsepower (290 megawatts) and 479 pound feet (649 newton meters). The i-Force Max engine adds an electric motor to increase the power output to 437 hp (326 kW), and 583 lb.ft (790 Nm). There are options for both rear- and four-wheel drive.

Toyota doesn’t say when the new Sequoia will debut, other than to say that it will “soon.” This generally means that the debut should occur within a few months. The SUVs will be available at dealers by the end of this year.
