These were created by the Sur Mesure customization program of the automaker.

The Bugatti Chiron supercar is already a rare one. Only 500 cars are expected to be made over the next few years. Even rarer are the Super Sport and Pur Sport versions. However, Bugatti’s Sur Mesure customization program can make your dreams a reality for the wealthy. Bugatti shared photos of two Chirons with exterior and interior touches to show off this program. This is not just a special paint color and contrast stitching for interior. Bugatti calls this exterior treatment Vague de lumeiere. It took five weeks to complete each car. Each car featured hand-painted designs inspired by light or how light reflects off it.

A Chiron Super Sport is the more vibrant. It has a light blue color base with orange stripes and wheels. This is a very simple description of the car. Official colors are California Blue and Arancia Mira and the design is intricate. Every body panel is covered in striping, which has different shapes and thicknesses. The grille is adorned with the number 38, which was also painted orange Arancia Mira at the buyer’s request. This color is used throughout the interior. The second Chiron, this time a Per Sport, is also striped, but it’s a little more subtle. The exterior of the car is blue with Nocture stripes and exposed Blue Carbon bodywork. The wing’s centerpiece is the Bugatti lettering in Blue, while the spoiler plates have the red-white-blue French Flag. The grille features a number 9, in French Racing Blue, while the interior trim is more French Racing Blue. Both Chirons find the process of creating exteriors labor-intensive. The designs are first drawn in two-dimensional form, and then applied to the three dimensional car’s surface. Each layer of striping is done by hand, giving the car a richer finish. After all the detail work is done, the cars are sealed with multiple layers of clear coat. Bugatti did a similar job on a Veyron in 2011 and created the Grand Sport L’Or Blanc, which can be seen in the photo gallery. “The ‘Vague De Lumiere’ paintwork that was applied to these two examples embodies Bugatti’s fundamental philosophies: craftsmanship, innovation and heritage,” stated Christophe Piochon, Bugatti President. We are constantly striving to improve the Bugatti customer experience from point of enquiry to final handover and aftersales service to levels never seen before in the automotive industry. It’s a great honor to see what Sur Mesure and our customers create over the next few years.
