We would expect nothing less of Australia.
This vehicle is part off-roader, part adventure car, and yes, it’s a camper. The Ram RT25 Supertourer is a combination of all these traits. It’s a machine that can make the most out of any journey, no matter where far it may be. It also pulls a huge trailer full of bikes, boats and other toys. It was built by Patriot Campers off Road (PCOR) and embodies all that we love about Australia.
Ram Fans will immediately recognize the base vehicle as a Laramie 2500 – Australia’s only submodel. It’s very well equipped inside, and PCOR doesn’t make any changes to the interior trim. The 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel Cummins engine under the hood is not modified by the company. It has a towing capability of over 15,000 pounds, which is sufficient to haul a refrigerated warehouse of ice cream.
PCOR instead raises the suspension a few inches and installs big 35-inch offroad tires to assist the big Ram in clearing obstacles. A pair of 12,000-pound winches are mounted front and rear. The forward winch is encased in an approved front bumper. Fender flares provide extra clearance for tires. When darkness falls, it never because PCOR has enough exterior lighting to alert satellites orbiting Mars.
However, the company’s signature piece is the custom rear bed. The all-aluminum structure houses lithium batteries, a 2500-watt power inverter and an air compressor. It also has water storage and lots of lockable bins. There’s also an optional fold-out kitchen with a small sink and two-burner stove and a pantry. A roof rack can be added with a solar panel. You won’t find any sleeping areas or a mobile toilet on this truck, but that’s why you have a tent and trees.
It’s not cheap to be able to travel anywhere and tow a large trailer. The RT25 Supertourer is priced at $215,000 AUD. This is just above $153,000 in U.S. dollars according to PCOR. This is a large sum for a Ram 2500. However, we believe there are very few machines that are as capable and well-equipped to find the less traveled roads.
