This is by far the best yet look at the electric supertruck.
There were mixed reactions to the 2022 GMC Hummer EV debut. Although we finally saw the truck after months of delays, it wasn’t a livestream . We were shown a CGI video of the electric “supertruck” driving off-road, but not the actual truck on the stage.
GMC has posted quite a few CGI videos of the Tesla Cybertruck competitor since its world premiere almost a week ago. We’ve also seen YouTubers getting to know the Hummer Electric Vehicle. Speed Phhenom made a new video that could be one of the most memorable. He got up close to a prototype, which seemed to have all the finishing touches.
This prototype shows the Edition 1 version, which costs $112,595. All models will be equipped with white paint, a Lunar Horizon and the “Infinity Roof”, which consists of three transparent panels. These panels were removed at the 5:40 mark. Jump to 6:10 to see the MultiPro tailgate in action. This is a proof that this is not an early test mule.
Although we would have loved to see the CrabWalk in action in real life, we will need to wait for the four-wheel steering system’s performance in the real world. It will be fascinating to see how the three-second claimed time to run from 0-60 mph will translate into actual performance, especially as the Hummer EV is such a heavy truck.
You can see the highlights of the video, which includes the 13.4-inch infotainment and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Climate controls can be accessed separately and have their own digital readouts. Speed Phhenom can also step outside to inspect the front trunk. It will be large enough for the roof panels.
The Hummer EV is a gem in the rough for the moment. GMC will have to work hard until next fall, when customers will be able to order the Edition 1 even though it appeared to be moving on its own. The EV3X trim will be available for $99,995. A lower-priced EV2X version is planned for spring 2023 at $89,995. The base EV2 will be available in spring 2024 at a price of $79 995.
