The Tesla Model 3 Calls to Neta Eureka 03 Concept

Modern and fresh, a rounded design with angular accents is a modern look.

Because of its unique silhouette and grille-less front fascia, the Tesla Model 3 has already become one of the most recognisable EVs around the globe. The Neta Eureka 03 concept, which was unveiled at the 2020 Beijing Motor Show, suggests that it may soon be challenged. The Eureka 03 is a sleek Art Deco design and could be the third model of electric vehicle manufacturer Neta after the U crossovers.

According to a CarNewsChina.com Facebook post, Neta claimed a range of 800 km (496 miles) by using an outdated NEDC protocol. We’d say that the EPA rating is still impressive at 559 km (347 mi) using chair mathematics. A standard-range Tesla Model 3 with rear wheel drive is rated at 250 mile range. The extended-range all-wheel-drive variant covered 322 miles in EPA testing.

The Eureka 03 can also sprint 100 km/h (62 miles/h) in just 4 seconds. This is a very good result compared to the Tesla. The base model hits 60 mph at 5.3 seconds while the extended-range Model 3 takes 4.4 seconds. The Tesla Model 3 Performance is the best choice for those who want maximum acceleration and a compact luxury EV. It can accelerate to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds with a range of 299 miles.

The Neta concept measures 189.0 inches in length, 78.7in wide and 55.1in tall (draped over an 114-inch wheelbase). The Neta concept’s Y-shaped headlights are reminiscent of the Polestar2 but much larger. The “Eureka 03”, branding is framed by a wide, pointed lower grille that provides cooling for electrical components. The side profile features triangular strakes that pair well with a 5-spoke, plumeria-shaped wheel.

The sleek curves of the fastback sedan’s roofline and rear haunches are complemented by beautiful flying buttresses that could have come straight from a supercar. A rear wing that is too small for the vehicle spoils the rear view, pun intended. A slick rear diffuser and an attention-grabbing rear bar (bookended with finlike tail lights), save the rear end.

CarNewsChina.com anticipates that a production version, the Neta Eureka 03, will be on China’s roads sometime in 2022.
