The Tesla Model S Plaid Vs. Modified Dodge Demon is a Shockingly Close Drag Race

The Tesla Model S Plaid has the fastest production car available today, clocking in at 1.99 seconds to go from 0-60mph.

How do you beat the Tesla Model S Plaid in drag racing? Brooks Weisblat, a DragTimes YouTube channel, challenged Herman Young, Demonology, to a drag racing race. Herman brought his modified Dodge Demon along to test its ability to beat a stock Tesla Model S Plaid in drag racing.

The Tesla Model S Plaid was unveiled in June 2021. It is the most powerful Tesla ever made. Thanks to its tri-motor all-wheel drive setup, the Tesla Model S Plaid is the most powerful mass-produced vehicle ever. The Tesla Model S Plaid has 1,020 horsepower (761 Kilowatts), and 1050 lb-ft (1.424 Newton Meters) of torque.

The Tesla Model S Plaid doesn’t just have an electric motor, it is a completely new design with permanent-magnet synchronous AC engines. The advanced electric motors are made of carbon fiber and have a shell made from it that houses the motor’s rotor section. This provides increased strength and lighter weight. These motors spin at a speed of 20,000 rpm, which is 25% faster than the previous versions of Tesla’s electric motors.

Tesla claims it can go from 0-60 mph in just 1.99 seconds, making it the fastest production vehicle currently on sale. The normal Tesla Model S can achieve the same feat in 3.1 seconds. However, it is important to note on the Tesla website that the Plaid’s rollout time has been subtracted and the normal Model S does the same. This makes the Plaid appear faster, when in fact the Model S is a powerful machine.

Demonology has modified the Dodge Demon to take on Tesla Model S Plaid. The Dodge Demon was an impressive car when it first debuted. However, Stock was not enough for Herman from Demonology. The current build features a stripped-down drag car, a larger supercharger and Ice water cooling system. The Dodge Demon produces over 1,200 horsepower (895 Kilowatts), but can it beat the Tesla Model S Plaid in drag racing?
