The Tesla Model Y shows its acceleration in early performance tests

It takes only 3.4 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60 mph.

The Tesla Model Y is now available for delivery. Brooks, Drag Times, has his. After he has taken ownership of the vehicle, he needs to find out how fast it is. It turns out that the answer is quite impressive.

The Vbox telemetry shows that the Model Y Performance can go from a stop at 60 miles per hour (96 km per hour) and has a one-foot rollout time of 3.426 seconds. It is shown at 3.79 seconds by Dragy. Vbox shows that the quarter-mile takes 11.912 seconds, at a speed 116 mph (187 km/h). Dragy gives the same time at 11.96 seconds.

Dragy states that the Model Y can travel between 60 mph and 130 mph (96 kph- 209 kph) in just 13.11 seconds. The half-mile is covered in 19.07 seconds. The crossover can do 135.41 mph (217.92 km/h).

Brooks believes that Tesla is limiting the Model Y’s performance due to the lack of an initial jolt when it’s on the pedal, like the Model 3. Brooks expects that a future software update will unlock enhanced acceleration.

It’s difficult to complain about being able reach 60 mph in 3.5 seconds even without this update. This is a speed that was only possible in a supercar a while back, but it’s now possible to reach 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds in a crossover with five passengers.

The Model Y can travel up to 322 miles (518 km) combined, depending on its specification. This figure drops to 299 miles (481 km) for the Model 3 Performance with 20 inch wheels.
