The ultimate zero-emission vehicle is the bicycle-powered car

It tops out at 2mph.

The internal combustion engine is a marvel of engineering. These engines can move people at 60 miles an hour (or more) by combining metal pieces and gaskets. This Honda Civic is powered by a two-wheeled bicycle.

It is very simple to construct. Although the engine has been removed from the Civic, the gearbox remains in place. The builders take off the rear wheel of the bike and create a frame to attach it to the car. The rear cassette is attached to the transmission by a belt.

Two guys can pedal the car with their bikes. The person at the wheel controls the steering and shifts into the correct gear.

They decide that driving to McDonald’s is the best way to take the machine. Although they manage to go 2 miles an hour, it is still faster than what the average person walks. However, they make great progress.

Except for one driver, everyone loves to see these guys riding their bikes while their friend steers the Civic. Nearly everyone they see has a smartphone to record their bizarre ride.

They finally make it to McDonald’s, and they order from the drive-thru because it’s the most attractive option for a bike-powered vehicle. It’s now time to go back after getting their drinks.

The cops are horrified by the strange contraption and pull the car over. However, the police officer is confused and allows them to pedal away.
