At least, for wagon-lovers.
Volkswagen seems to be finishing up the eighth generation Golf Variant. Our photographers had another encounter with the wagon. It was first spotted just days ago, and now it is back in a different set of photos.
It’s not shocking to see, but it is more practical. Golf It looks just like everyone would expect, but it doesn’t make the car less interesting. The Golf 8 hatch’s front end is identical to the Golf 8 hatch’s, and the rest is predictable.
The German automaker isn’t ready to reveal the rear end, so they put stickers on the back to trick your eyes into thinking the design was a copy of the Golf wagon. However, the LED clusters at its back will appear slimmer and more extended if you look closely.
Sadly, the new Golf Variant will not be coming to the United States, regardless of whether you like it or not. It will likely only be available in Europe, and there are chances that Volkswagen will introduce a rugged Alltrack variant. Only the Golf GTI or Golf R versions of the new Golf will be available in the US, but they won’t arrive until the second half of 2021.
Customers in Europe who are looking for fast wagons can keep their fingers crossed that another Golf R Variant is available, and perhaps a new Golf GTD Variant. A plug-in hybrid GTE is also possible on the Old Continent, where there is still strong demand for wagons. Plug-in hybrids are growing in popularity.
Volkswagen has not yet revealed the debut date for the new Golf Variant. Although it is likely that we will see it in the fall, the manufacturer must reveal the GTI TCR or R variants first.
