In the BMW M3 that he received as a gift from his sponsors, Usain Bolt, 2008 Olympic star, was involved in an accident. The 200m and 100m champions were able to escape with minor injuries.
After crashing his BMW M3 Coupe with 309kW (420hp), the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt is now recovering from minor injuries. Puma, his apparel sponsor, gifted Usain Bolt the M3 just five months ago. Bolt is the triple Olympic champion and holder of the World 100m and 200m records.
Bolt was traveling with two female companions and suffered minor injuries to his feet from thorns that he walked on as he fled the accident scene. According to some reports, the car skidded off the road due to a slippery road surface. He was traveling on Highway 2000, the Vineyard Toll section of St Catherine, Jamaica. Spanish Town is located in the southwest corner of the island and St Catherine is its capital.
The 2008 Male World Athlete of the year did not give any explanation as to why it happened. A member of the wrecker crew stated that both the front tyres had been punctured, and the left wheel on the front was almost completely torn off. The rear window was completely smashed and the windscreen was damaged. Bolt also stated that there were 50m of tyre marks along the road from where the M3 left the road. Bolt is not suspected of speeding according to police.
Bolt replied, “Me good man,” when asked by a reporter about his feelings after the accident. Bolt said, “Me all right, just a few cuts man. After three hours, he was released from the Spanish Town Hospital.
Although the 22-year-old sprinter was originally scheduled to perform at this weekend’s Area Permit Meet, his presence at the event has been questioned. His manager stated that they are listening to his feelings and will make a decision before making any statements.
