The World’s Longest Car is Now Restored.

It measures over 100 feet in length and has a helipad.

In 2020, the longest car in the world was on its way to Florida for a complete restoration. The so-called “American Dream”, originally built in Burbank by Jay Ohrberg in 1986, had been neglected for many years behind a New Jersey warehouse. The restoration of the longest car in the world has been completed and it now looks even better.

The American Dream was purchased by Michael Dezer, a Central Florida car collector. He also funded its rebuild. The 1976 Cadillac Eldorado custom had to be moved in two pieces from its home in Nassau County in New York to Orlando. Dezer, Manning and their teams rebuilt the vehicle from scratch.

It included body work, interior makeovers, an engine rebuild and upgrades to the pool, mini-golf course and jacuzzi. Guinness World Records estimates that Dezer and his team spent around $250,000 on the restoration, including shipping.

The American Dream is now capable of running or driving and measures 100 feet and 1.5 inches long. This breaks the 1986 record. It can hold up to 75 people and has 26 wheels. It also includes some of the above elements, as well as a waterbed and a pool table and even a working helipad.

Michael Manning, Guinness World Records: “The helipad can support up to five thousand pounds and is structurally attached to the vehicle with steel brackets beneath,” Manning said.

The owners claim that it can be driven technically, but The American Dream is too long to drive on public roads. The iconic limousine will instead be a display piece at the Dezerland Park automobile museum, just outside Orlando, Florida.
