It was a true “cartastrophe” when Felicity Ace caught on fire, before it crashed to the bottom of Atlantic Ocean. As you’ve likely heard, Lamborghini has been forced to restart production on the Aventador in order to make the Ultimae cars. The Volkswagen Group actually had several high-end vehicles aboard the cargo ship. Many of these were already on their way to customers.
The complete list of cars that died on the Felicity Ace has been obtained by the Dutch side of Top Gear magazine. It’s quite a mess. Apart from the new Bentleys and Audis, Porsches and Volkswagens there were also a few privately owned cars. A 1996 Honda Prelude SiR JDM-spec Honda Prelude SiR was the first to catch our attention. It is allegedly the 65 most car ever made.
Another interesting car on the list is a 1977 Land Rover Santana. It was built in Spain by Land Rover under license and using complete knock-down kit. A 2015 Ford Mustang GT and a 2018 Nissan Versa Note, MAN TGM truck are also worth mentioning. A dozen Fendt tractor were also available, as well as a 2014 Kia Soul and one Porsche 718Boxster GTS4.0 that was listed separately, because it was someone else’s car.
An Audi TT Roadster, a Q2, and an E-Tron GT all died with the ship. A Mini Countryman, a Mini Countryman, a Volkswagen Jetta & Taigo as well as a Porsche Cayenne and a Volkswagen Jetta were also lost. The VW Group lost so many cars, as the list clearly shows. These are double- and triple-digit losses.
