Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious 9 movie should be out in the United States on May 28th. Vin Diesel stated that he hasn’t seen any yet. While we are eager to learn more, let’s not forget about the 2001 original film.

The first F&F The movie “Automobile Legends” was a true cinematic masterpiece. We aren’t just talking about the characters. The Supra, Charger and S2000 are just a few of the legends that these cars have earned. What if these cars weren’t featured in the movie?

A new video has been posted on YouTube, by Craig Lieberman. This video was brought to our attention from Road and Track. Lieberman served as a technical advisor to Universal Pictures during the production of the first three Fast & Furious films. He talks in the video for 13 minutes about the cars that were rejected from the original movie, and why.

We love all the cars in the movie but we must admit that some of them are our favorites. In the opening scene of the movie, Brian was supposed drive a Mitsubishi 3000GT, but he ended up driving an Eclipse. It is interesting that Vince was originally supposed to drive a Honda Civic in the original script. However, Matt Schulze, an actor, was too tall and they gave him a Maxima.

The movie’s creators wanted the cars featured to be appropriate for the characters, and more importantly to work within the film’s limited budget. All cars featured in the movie had to be new and sold in the United States.
