These are made by Knaus Tabbert in Germany, but they can’t be bought.
There seems to be a cool revival in van conversions. There are many options for mobile homes-a-way-from-home that offer affordable accommodations and extravagant command centers. Our e-desk helper from Knaus Tabbert is a German company that specializes almost entirely in camper-related products. These vans are concepts, so they can’t be bought. This is too bad because these two vans – the CUVolution or CUVision – stand out in a world full of conversion vans.
Let’s first decipher the meaning of Knaus Tabbert with these strange names. Most people know CUV as a crossover utility vehicle. However, in this case, it refers to a caravanning vehicle. It’s a bit of a joke, but it’s the reason we have CU fused to vision as well as volution. This is evolution, of course. Let’s now look at these fun, vacation-ready vans.
We can’t tell you much about them, as Knaus Tabbert isn’t telling us much. The silver CUVision is made from the MAN TGE platform, which is a common van platform on European markets. The body kit includes a front spoiler and sculpted sides. It also comes with 22-inch Borbet tires. The orange CUVolution comes from Weinsberg. It has a more aggressive exterior suit, with large air intakes in the front and a roof spoiler at the back. It’s complemented with satin anthracite and the orange finish makes it easy to miss it at night or in the campground.
The interior of these vans is unknown, as well as whether they have performance bite to match their aggressive styling. Both vehicles are the company’s “visual future” of the CUV. If you happen to be in Dusseldorf during the week, you can view them at the Caravan Salon from August 24 through September 2.
