It’s almost like a Gladiator & Wrangler having a baby.
The three-row Jeep SUV is not yet available. Jeep has just revealed the Grand Wagoneer concept. It won’t be available in showrooms until 2022. What is a Jeep-loving and three-row-needing offroader supposed do? Duh! One person built it. Photos and video of him are available on Instagram. This is a stunning build. It looks like it was built in a factory with three rows.
Although it looks like an Wrangler extended, in reality it is a Gladiator with the addition of a cab. The craftsmanship is outstanding. You can tell this isn’t stock by the length of the rear doors. They are longer than they would be from Jeep. The side glass is also bigger. The Wrangler’s rear overhang has also been reduced. A number of photos from Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan al Nahyan’s Off-Road History Museum Instagram account, which were discovered by our colleagues at The Drive, show the construction in detail. It seems like the Gladiator and the Wrangler had an off-road baby.
The interior photos show that the Gladiator’s second row bench seat has been replaced with captain chairs. It also appears cramped in the third row, even though larger vehicles suffer from the same issue. The three-row Gladiator would likely face the same problems. It does have a long truck bed but it was not designed to hold three rows of seats. This is the purpose of the Grand Wagoneer.
While the Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer will be top-of-the-line options for three-row buyers alike, a smaller, more offroad-oriented three row could also be available. There are spy photos and rumors of a smaller three-row offering from the brand. However, it is not a Gladiator nor a Wrangler. It’s actually a three-row Jeep Grand Cherokee. Although it won’t eat dirt as well as the Gladiator or Wrangler, it will likely be very popular.
