Hey, it’s December. It’s time to start thinking about gifts.
Although Dodge removed the Viper brand nameplate more than a year ago, hopes and dreams for its revival have not wavered. It’s not surprising, the Viper is an iconic name that will not be easily lost by ceasing production.
We’ll start December with a Christmas wish. A rear-engine Dodge Viper.
Yes, yes, we do know. Rumours about the Viper’s return have been denied by the American company. They actually did it quickly , putting an end to gossip in less than a week . Our team of wizards, a.k.a. Our team of graphic designers has produced a rendering for a future Viper mid-engine Viper. We couldn’t help but wish that these renderings would come true.
This rendering is similar to the Viper’s previous version, with the exception of the obvious body modification that allows for a rear-engine configuration. Its central engine could make it a formidable rival to European supercars McLaren and Ferrari.
The mid-engine Viper should have a twin-turbo, 4.2-liter V8 capable of producing 650 horses. A more powerful version of the Viper is always possible, and should make European counterparts quail.
Although it is too soon to know if a rear-engine Viper will become a reality, Dodge continues to deny any rumors. If the American marque does bring back the nameplate it will be something the whole world would love. We only wish it was sooner. It’s even snazzier.
