This 1965 early model is absolutely stunning.
The 1965 Shelby GT350 Mustang Mustang is iconic, regardless of whether you consider it a pony car or muscle car. It is the originalShelby, which is why they are so rare. You may have seen them at auto shows, but chances are that they are standard Mustangs wearing Shelby attire. This is because 562 1965 Shelby GT350s were made , prototypes included and the race-only R model. Only a little more than 500 cars were built for street use.
MotorGT has this available for sale. However, it is not a clone. It’s also an early-build car, number 039, and was built at Shelby’s original factory, Venice, California. Although the listing does not mention the car’s ownership, it does list the original equipment that was used in its restoration. This Shelby was restored to its 1965 specifications, down to the original driveshaft loop.
It took three years to complete the restoration, and the photos are a good indication of that. You might be a little surprised to see the GT350’s trademark blue stripes missing. However, many GT350s, including this one, were built without them. The Shelby also includes the optional Cragar 15 inch wheels. It even comes with the original sales sheets and manuals.
The vintage Shelby price has remained steady over the past few years and this car definitely looks like it’s got all sorts of collector power. It is located in Green Bay in Wisconsin. The photos show a lot of green grass, so it is safe to assume that the car is protected from the worst winter weather. Although $575,000 seems like a reasonable asking price, it’s rare to find a 1965 Shelby GT350 that is authentic and original.
