Do not even attempt to deny that you don’t enjoy it.
If you don’t want to get into a fight, there are three things you should avoid discussing in the world: politics, religion, and Ford Mustangs any other than two-door Pony Cars. However, we don’t believe this Raptor Mustang is going to start a fight. We don’t think this Raptor Mustang will start a fight, however.
This rendering is from X-Tomi Design, which we found on Facebook. We are amazed that someone thought of it. We have seen many off-road Mustangs in person, including at backwoods mud-bog meet with rotten Fox Body 5.0s that were haphazardly bolted onto a Ford Bronco frame. We haven’t actually seen it in person. These things have only been seen in Craigslist ads when we were searching for new BMW project vehicles. We’d never get rowdy at rural Saturday night sippy holes parties. That’s it.
This rendering shows more than just a weekend project. It looks great on the Mustang’s front. Is it a sacrilege that we prefer the bumper to the Mustang’s lower fascia? It doesn’t have to be four-wheel-drive. The suspension lift with knobby tires, skid plates, and 460-horsepower Mustang GT would make for some great fun. Now, we can imagine ourselves cruising down a two-track log road and catching some air over small crests. Or, why not launch over sand dunes! Can you say Mustang Baja? You can say it with us. Mustang Baja. Mustang Baja.
When Ford announced it would be building a four-door SUV on the Mustang platform, people were very upset. The backlash against the Mach 1 being revived as an electric crossover was so severe that had to abruptly reverse that decision. This Raptor-Mustang merger feels oddly right.
Ford, how about it? This off-road Raptor pony could help you take your Mustang in a new direction.
