This is a depressing view of L.A.’s Thanksgiving traffic Are 12 lanes of traffic at an impasse for miles? No. Friends, we love Los Angeles. California, the West Coast, East Coast and all states between are our favorite places. Traffic is what we hate – everyone loves traffic. And while L.A. is certainly cool, we don’t want to deal with the traffic chaos that is L.A. This CBS Los Angeles video shows the gridlock that was on the 405 freeway at rush hour yesterday. This is not a traffic jam caused by a major incident. It’s just a lot people on the roads at the same moment ahead of Thanksgiving in the U.S. (which is a little late this year, on November 28). It is difficult to travel in the L.A. metropolitan area at night. However, as the video above shows in painful detail while zooming in, congestion is not limited to the 405. Side streets and smaller highways have similar traffic jams. This is a lot of cars that aren’t going anywhere, folks. Another video, posted on FB, offers another view of the traffic. It was still heavy hours later. According to the news report, the heavy traffic could have been due to travelers taking advantage of the impending winter storm that is expected to bring rain to Los Angeles and snow to the mountains east of the city. This storm system is expected to intensify, and move east at a rapid pace, disrupting Thanksgiving travel across the entire U.S. No matter how far you travel this holiday season, keep safe on the roads.
