During this time, the U.S. President has criticized the Japanese automakers for failing to produce cars in America.
The U.S. President Donald Trump will be on a 12-day Asian tour that includes China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam. According to experts, this was the most ambitious tour of any American leader in over a decade. It began with what is called a “friendly golf game” with Shinzo Abe, the Japanese Prime Minister.
The Secret Service posted two photos over the weekend that showed how it transports the President’s armored vehicles to his destinations. These photos show the cars being loaded onto a C-17 Globemaster transport plane.
The Beast, Trump’s official state vehicle produced by Cadillac, is one of the vehicles. It is the same limousine that was used by President Barack Obama’s predecessor. It is built on a medium-duty truck platform. It was put into service January 2009, and there are 12 copies in the White House.
It is also believed that the limo’s weight limits its speed to 60 mph (97 km/h) and it returns an average of 3.7 to 8 miles per gallon (approximately 29-64 liters per 100 km).
Cadillac is currently working on the successor to the presidential limousine. It will retain its exterior design elements but will get the brand’s trademark grille and vertical headlights, which seem to be inspired by the CT6 sedan.
Trump’s Asian trip is making headlines already. The U.S. President said that Japanese automakers must produce cars for the American market. However, approximately 75 percent of Japanese-brand cars are built in North America. There are at least 26 manufacturing plants in North America, and 36 research and design facilities in the U.S.
