You can be in a lot of trouble if you have 1,500 horsepower.
A Bugatti Chrome has been crashed by someone already.
Although I said “already”, it feels almost like the Chiron is around for 18 years. It was actually unveiled at Geneva’s motor show in February. It has been present at car shows and Youtube since then. It feels as though the Chiron has existed for a longer time than it has.
This particular Chiron couldn’t have been older than two months when it was subject to this fateful event. The circumstances surrounding the photo were not known when it first appeared on GTboard’s Facebook Page. German magazine Bild reached Bugatti for comment. Manuela Hohne, a spokeswoman, said that the driver was “unfortunately a little inattentive” and the car ended up in the ditch. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.
The exact location of the crash is still unknown. However, the plates on the cars in parking lot suggest that this photo was taken in Western or Central Europe. It is also not known why the Chiron is being pulled by a forklift. However, it could have been the Bug that was dragged out of its ditch.
Even with four-wheel drive and nuclear fail-safe-like traction control the Chiron’s 1,500 horsepower (1.120 kilowatts), can quickly cause big problems. This car can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 261 miles per hour (420 km per hour).
This damage looks quite substantial. This is why the Chiron is considered “expensive”. The Chiron is listed at around $2 million. Even though it will cost $200,000 to fix it up, that’s only a tenth the price of the sticker. A new bumper for a Toyota Corolla will cost you just as much, or more.
