Mercedes-Benz will unveil the C-Class in March at the Geneva Motor Show. The company has official photos and details on the new models. However, several photos taken at Mercedes-Benz’s East London factory, South Africa, on zero2turbo give another view of the updated just before the official premiere.
The company makes sure that the changes are not visible from the outside. These photos show the refreshed C43 with a new lower fascia and horizontal strakes at the corner inlets. The headlights have been updated with a modified array of LEDs. The performance model features a prominent diffuser at the back and four circular outlets in place of the trapezoidal pipes.
Zero2Turbo states that the white car shown in these photos is a basic C180 model. This model features similar modifications to its front fascia, headlights and engine as its more powerful sibling.
The digital cluster of 12.3-inch digital instruments is the most recent update, while analog units are still a standard feature. A 10.25-inch screen is also available for the infotainment system. The steering wheel has been updated with buttons that respond to swipes to control the displays. An upgrade was also made to the driver assistance with improved cameras and radar sensors that detect road conditions further ahead.
The base engine in the United States will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder with 255 horsepower. It also has 273 pound-feet torque. It runs through a nine speed automatic. Mercedes has not yet provided any information about the changes to the other powertrains but it seems likely that power tweaks will be made throughout the line-up.
