The Beetle is a comfortable camper.
There are many ways to customize a Volkswagen Beetle. There are many ways to customize a classic Volkswagen Beetle. You can transform a Beetle with your imagination, using either high-powered dragsters or their parts to create a gokart.
Also, we’re seeing the Bug converted into mobile houses. Sergio, a Californian, took a different approach to building his Beetle camper. He turned the car into an RV-style teardrop camper instead of putting a mini motorhome body on it.
Sergio’s teardrop camper began life as a 1965 Beetle. Although the owner stated that it took four years to reach this point, he added that it never ends. To create the teardrop shape, the front end was cut off and the top was removed a few inches. The front of the camper was constructed from the fenders from another Beetle.
The sunroof allows for more light to enter and a roof rack can store additional luggage. Sergio also removed the windows from one side of his Beetle to seal it off. The entrance to the humble home is the only door that remains.
This tiny camper has a small kitchen. It is located where the engine was and features an oven with built-in coffeemaker, portable stove and a sink. The mini-cooking area houses the battery and five-gallon water supply.
The bed is quite large for a small camper. Two large storage areas, a lamp and clothes hook are some other amenities. Although it’s not packed with toys and TVs, it does look like a relaxing place to relax.
Although the Beetle teardrop camper is unable to move by itself, it’s wonderful to see these vintage cars being repurposed with taste. We are curious to know what Sergio drives to tow the camper. It is nice to imagine that he uses another Volkswagen for towing the camper around town.
