This Jeep Hemi-Swapped Jeep, 880 HP, Is A Track-Capable Sleeper

We have found our favorite Jeep.

What track day was it since the 880 horsepower (656kW), Hemi-powered Jeep Cherokee racer? You may not have seen this rare example unless you were there for the Holly Mopar Fest with the Hoonigan guys. The Jeep Cherokee is built on the frame and drivetrain of a Chevy C10 Pickup truck.

This Jeep Cherokee is a great example of what it means to be a sleeper. The exterior of the Jeep Cherokee is a classic Jeep Cherokee. But that’s the end of the pedestrian Jeep nature.

The Jeep’s exterior has a Chevy C10 truck frame that has been modified to accept a 5.7-liter Hemi engine and 6-Speed manual transmission. It can also fit under the Jeep’s body. The interior is also gutted and features two bucket seats. This makes it a driver-focused vehicle.

After swapping out the Hemi’s, the owner added a Borg Warner S366 turbocharger to increase the power output. It produced 720 horsepower (536kW) with 840 lbft (1180nm of torque). To make more power, the owner added a larger Borg Warner S480 turbocharger in a compound configuration. Although the new engine configuration was not dyno-tested, drag strip performance power has been estimated to be around 880 horsepower.

This is more than just a big engine in an old Frankenstein truck. This truck is truly unique because of its quality and attention to detail. It takes a lot of time to build something like this truck. The owner’s passion is only matched in his impressive build performance.
