Remember the GTR that was meant to be used for track only? McLaren recollects that street-legal versions of the P1 GTR have been appearing on the used market more often lately. They are not cheap and this all-black-everything example recently appeared in the classifieds is proof of that.
This insanely fast, street-legal McLaren P1 GTR is available for sale at $4.36million (EUR3.99million). It is listed on Automobile.fr, but you will need to travel to the Netherlands in order to purchase it.
You’ll find the exact same engine on this P1 GTR as on any other. The 3.8-liter biturbo-V8 hybrid engine produces 986 horsepower (725kW) at full throttle. This makes it 83 horses (61 kW) faster than the standard P1. The P1 GTR can also deliver 1,455 lbs (660 kg) of downforce at 150 MPH (241 kmh), thanks to its massive rear wings.
McLaren will only ever build 45 of these ridiculous machines. It also had to pass through British conversion specialists Levante Racing before it could be converted to road use. Although it is not clear how many of these machines have been or will be converted for road use, the number that have been sold is a strong indication of the high demand.
