This McLaren Senna LM, inspired by the 90s, Is A Throwback to The F1 LM

This Senna, a race-inspired Senna, is orange. Very orange.

People love to reminisce about the 1990s. Why not make it even more fun by buying the ultimate throwback-mobile!

Recently, we saw photos of a new McLaren Senna LM car in Glasgow. This was a car that finally arrived after months of rumors.

A similar car was revealed now, but this time it is a grey subdued with subtle hints McLaren yellow. This one makes full use the Woking manufacturer’s papaya paint supply.

This car was photographed at McLaren Manchester, before it returned to McLaren to be delivered to its new owner. It bears a striking resemblance with the original McLaren F1 LM 1995 (below).

It was designed to coincide with McLaren’s entry in that year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, which McLaren won despite not being in the top class. However, there will be more than six Senna LMSs made unlike the 1990s icon. There will be six orange LMs. There will be 24 total, seven of them orange.

What is the Senna LM then? It fits nicely between the Senna LM, which is track-focused and road-going, and the Senna GTR, which is track-only. The LM is road legal, unlike the GTR.

It is the same engine as the McLaren range of 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engines, but it has a slight power increase of about 25 hp thanks to polished ports. Cylinder heads and polished ports have also resulted in a modest power boost. The bodywork has been modified to suit the F1 GTR and F1 LM races with and retro race versions.

McLaren’s MSO customization gurus have added options for this particular car, including some that are exclusive to it. You can see the gold-painted wishbones, as well as the 24 karat-gold-lined engine bay and four distinct gold exhaust tips. These are in addition to the three that are usually found on non-US Sennas.

You will also see a few “LM” badges on the car’s interior and exterior. The interior is where drivers and passengers will experience a more loud experience than regular Sennas, but they won’t need headsets to communicate as much as with F1 LM.

The Senna LM’s distinctive glass inserts on its doors have been replaced by body-colored carbon fiber panels.

This modern version of a classic is available for as low as PS1,248,000 (around $1.64M). That’s a bargain considering that the P1 LM it replaced cost a staggering PS3 million ($3.96M) nearly four years ago. An F1 LM would run you around 10 times that amount today.

The Senna LM, on the other hand, is the ideal car for those who are eager to payday. Sign me up
