Although it may not appear like it, this GT-R-inspired Nissan Patrol has been created for hypercar blood.
In the final episode The Grand Tour Richard Hammond pits a Porsche 918 against a lowly Nissan Patrol. Although it may seem silly, even according to GT standards this is not your average Nissan SUV. The turbocharged 1,900-horsepower (1.416-kilowatt), turbocharged engine is under the hood. It’s a GT-R. You can see the entire car in detail in the video. F performance Garage in Dubai completed the project. The Patrol shares parts like the suspension, transmission and steering wheel with its GT-R sibling, the GT-R. The shop fitted the vehicle with super sticky road-race tires, huge brakes, and a GTR-inspired hood that has functioning vents. You can even get launch control to make sure all that power is put to use on the roads.
The Patrol’s top speed is 205 miles an hour (329 km per hour), which is a lot faster than the 285-horsepower (212 watt) version that you receive from the factory. The Patrol’s added performance decimated all 918s, earning it the Internet name, “918 Killer.” The video shows that even with all the extra power, the vehicle still drives and looks normal, so it’s the ultimate sleeper. You should check out the Patrol vs. 918 drag racing video. There is no word on the total cost, but the base Nissan Patrol starts around 191,000AED ($52,000). If you add the cost of the new GT-R at 403,000AED ($109.990), this still doesn’t compare to the $845,000 starting price for the 918.
