It is ready for adventure.
The Porsche Cayenne SUV is not the first one that comes to mind when thinking about an off-road vehicle. The model’s track record of success in dirt is impressive. Porsche won the Transsyberia Rally 2007 and 2008. Porsche only produced 26 examples of the rally king. However, a tribute version is available on CarsandBids.com and it looks ready to go.
The 2005 turbo Cayenne tribute comes with an impressive standard kit. The Advanced Off-Road Technology Package includes locking center and rear differentials, and hydraulically activated front- and rear sway disconnects. The Porsche Active Suspension as well as the Porsche Traction Management systems are also included. There are many upgrades available to the SUV that will help it maintain its rugged appearance. The SUV has a 3-inch suspension lift, paired with aluminum rock sliders, skid plates and wheel spacers.
Orange accents are added to the silver exterior, including the side mirrors and 18-inch wheels that have been powder-coated, as well as the grille inserts and decals. The back features a custom swing-away spare wheel holder, which also houses two auxiliary gas cans. While the roof has an LED light bar, it also includes a rooflight. The dash is accented with orange, but the most significant upgrade is the 9.0-inch Xtrons infotainment screen in the dash. This adds a modern touch to the interior. The heated steering wheel, heated front seats and leather seats are all included.
There are a few imperfections to the SUV, such as scratches on the driver’s side door and stone chips at the lower valance. However, these flaws do not detract from the bold appearance. The carpet is worn and the leather upholstery has wrinkles. These are typical blemishes for a 16-year old car. The brand’s twin-turbocharged, 4.5-liter V8 produces a powerful 450 horsepower (335 megawatts). The auction will close in five days, so the $16,000 current bid could increase.
