Never imagined that the G-Wagen could rock a widebody kit.
The Mercedes-AMG G63 is an exceptional car. It’s a lunchbox in form and packs incredible numbers you won’t find in supercars. The biturbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 engine can produce 577 horsepower and 627 pounds-feet torque. This is enough power to take you to the other side of the moon. Maybe not.
Many have attempted to beat the German SUV at the drag strip with these performance figures. Although its anti-aerodynamic design would be a disadvantage in straight-line races, the AMG G63 managed to win, beating an Audi SQ7 and a Range Rover SVR.
What can make the AMG G63 even better? Tune it, add body kits and drive it like a madman – like this Mercedes-AMG G63 “Onyx Edition.”
Although this is not an official Mercedes variant of the car, it is still an interesting aftermarket creation by Onyx Concept, a tuner from the United Kingdom.
It comes with complete body kits, including aero front bumpers and sill enhancements as well as carbon fibre side vents and rear diffuser. Two exhausts are located at the sides. The bonnet has been vented and the wheels are upgraded to 22-inch Amethyst diamond-finished wheels. We have to admit that the brakes are a little small for such huge wheels. The huge wheels match the G-Wagen’s widebody kit, which surprised us as we didn’t think this SUV could have a wider stance.
The most important aspect of the tuned G63 is its increased power rating which now stands at 720 horsepower. You can see this insane build in action in the video below. The build cost PS200,000, or around $264,000, at current exchange rates.
