Amedeo Felisa, ex-Ferrari CEO, will succeed him.
Tobias Moers, ex-head honcho at Aston Martin, was announced to be taking over the Gaydon-based sports marque’s reins in May 2020. The German executive will be stepping down immediately, but he will continue to work within the company until July in order to help his successor settle in. Amedeo Felisa, the former Ferrari CEO and who left Maranello in 2014 after 26 year at Ferrari, will succeed him as CEO. Roberto Fedeli will be his CTO.
Since the start of the year , reports about Tobias Moers’ possible departure have been swirling around Internet. Autocar stated that such a move would be at the top because of “numerous departures from senior personnel” and average financial results. In January, Aston Martin Chairman Lawrence Stroll said that rumors were untrue: “I don’t know where it comes from.” Tobias is doing an excellent job. He is staying. He is the perfect partner for my needs.”
This shocking move comes just two weeks after Aston Martin’s Racing Green strategy on embracing electrification over the next years. A plug-in hybrid model will be introduced in 2024, taking the form of the Valhalla mid-engined car. The firm’s first fully electric vehicle will be available by 2025. A year later, all models in the lineup will be available with an EV or hybrid option.
Aston Martin plans to electrify all of its GTs by 2030. Aston Martin’s ultimate goal is carbon neutrality in all manufacturing processes and throughout the supply chain by 2039. This timeline is still to be determined, as Amedeo Felisa, 76, has been appointed the new CEO.
Roberto Fedeli was the Prancing Horse’s new CTO before his departure in 2014. He has worked since then for BMW and Alfa Romeo before joining FAW-Silk in 2014.
