BMW is a partner with Mission: Impossible since 2011, when the then i8 Concept made a brief appearance in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. This partnership continued to the sixth installment, the Mission: Impossible: Fallout where Ethan Hunt drove a BMW M5.
BMW seems to be continuing its collaboration with the action-packed movie for the seventh installment, based upon this YouTube footage. SupercarsNews . The video is attached to this story.
Although the footage’s resolution is not great, it does not show Hunt driving a 5 Series or M5. However, a frame-by–frame peek will reveal the rear diffuser as well as four exhaust pipes that indicate Hunt is driving the latter. It is clear that the scene was shot on the narrow streets in Rome, which allowed Hunt to have fun with the police chase scene.
It’s not clear if Cruise is actually behind the wheel performing the stunts. It’s possible to believe that Cruise is doing the stunts, given the thumbnail and the fact that he has done his own car chases in Mission: Impossible movies.
Oh, and one more. You may have noticed the camera chase vehicles. One is a Nissan GT-R and the other is a Porsche Cayenne first-generation – both in black, modified for camera duties. It’s pretty cool.
The Mission: Impossible 7 will be released in theaters on November 19, 2021. A direct sequel is expected to follow the film the next year. The original release date was July 23, 2021. However, it was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
