It’s a bit silly, but it looks like a lot fun.
More than a decade ago Top Gear placed Richard Hammond in a tight spot: race a Bugatti Vyron against an Eurofighter Typhoon. This aircraft was a cutting-edge piece that gained international recognition in the aerospace industry in 2008.
We all know that no matter how much we love Bugattis, the flying machine is always going to win. It’s also pointless, but it looked great. Here’s another video, in case you missed it.
Top Gear is back with a new host, a new car and a more advanced plane. The meaningless, but entertaining, race of technology does change.
It’s the McLaren Speedtail, which represents the four-wheeled transports. This British hypercar is powered by a modified M840T, 720S, and a hybrid powertrain. The Speedtail produces 1,036 horsepower (773 megawatts) and can travel at speeds of 250 mph (402.3 km/h). Chris Harris is the Speedtail’s pilot.
The contender isn’t any ordinary figherjet – it’s the most advanced and up-to-date one, the F35. We won’t go into detail about the F35’s power. You can see the video at the top of this page for more information.
Another thing: the uploaded video has Preview on the title. This makes us believe that this is more than a pointless race. We’ll be watching, no matter what it may be.
