It’s radio-controlled, too!
Lego and BBC’s Top Gear announced last month that they would be collaborating to create new Lego sets inspired by automotive design. Although the announcement stated that customers could expect new sets next year (which is not true), Lego Technic today announced the Top Gear GT Rally Car, its first Top Gear-branded product. It will go on sale at December 31st.
Top Gear and the toymaker collaborated to create the vehicle. The goal was to make a rally car that is realistic. With its Group B-inspired design, wild sticker pack, and other features, the Top Gear GT Rally Car is a great choice. Classic rally cars are characterized by their large wing, big tires and hatchback appearance. But that’s Not all the Lego Technic creations can be done. Radio-controlled rally cars can also be built. One large, one extra-large, and one Bluetooth-controlled smarthub are included in the kit. The Lego Technic Control+ smartphone application allows builders to control the car using multi-touch controls, reverse and forward, gyro control and steering. There are also challenges and achievements.
Lego Technics kits are a Lego set that is more versatile than the standard, with complex builds and additional features that increase the skill level. Lego Technic sets can also include working engines, transmissions and differentials. Lego Technic Top Gear is for children 9 years and older and features 463 Lego pieces.
It wasn’t known at the time that Lego and BBC would be partnering. We don’t know the number of Top Gear-branded Lego sets that we will receive. This could go beyond the current production cars. Perhaps the two of them will team up to create a car that features one of the iconic specials from the show. We might just enjoy crazy Top Gear creations. The Top Gear GT Rally Car will go on sale worldwide on December 26th for $129.
