These Italians will transform a Maserati GranTurismo into this.
Do you have a Maserati GranTurismo lying about and don’t know how to use it? You could give it to Touring Superleggera, Milan. They will make it tart and transform it into the Sciadipersia.
According to the firm, it is not following the current trend of aggressive frontal treatments and instead using something more reminiscent past times – think the Orient Express. We would be horrified if they came up with something more aggressive than this, but it certainly feels better than the Maserati.
Only 10 Sciadipersias are being built. The price is not being disclosed. You’ll have to visit the Touring Superleggera gates at Milan with your Maserati and find out the exact cost. The company’s coachbuilders are available to help you with the conversion if you are satisfied.
They will remove the old seats and replace them with fancy Italian leather. Trim the dashboard in brushed aluminum and add a custom Foglizzo set of luggage to the boot.
Touring Superleggera will paint the exterior in a color it calls “Orient Night Blue,” and which it claims is meant to evoke a clear night sky.
The oily bits don’t matter, the Italians claim that they won’t alter the engine, electronics or other parts from the manufacturer. Why mess with a naturally aspirated V8 that’s as good as it gets?
The car is 1,700 kg (3,748 lbs) in weight. It can run from 0 to 60 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 2.7 seconds before reaching a top speed at 187 mph (301 km/h). The fuel economy of the car is less impressive.
Touring Superleggera gives you two years warranty on the car, while it takes six months to build one. Next week, the Sciadipersia debuts at Geneva Motor Show.
