The limited edition sports car will remain available until May 31st.
Toyota has plans to build a next-generation, which will be a more affordable sports car that the recently introduced Supra. According to a spokesman from the company, the 86 has been part of the Toyota family since 2013. The plan is that the next-generation 86 will be a more affordable sports car than the recently introduced new 86.
A new two-door coupe made in Japan is a better way to keep the model current than offering customers a special edition. The Japanese are the key word as the Toyota 86 British Green Limited is only available in Japan. Although the automaker does not mention any plans for the country, all information regarding the model can be found on the Japanese website.
The British Green Limited is finished in a green hue that strongly recalls the British Green color used in many sports cars over the years. The interior has new Alcantara leather sports seats with contrasting orange stitching and black steering wheel. However, the center console does not have a display for the infotainment systems. It will appeal to purists, but it is a little too simple.
The limited edition model does not include powertrain upgrades. However, there are a few other improvements that should make it more road-worthy. It now rides on lightweight, high-rigidity, cast aluminum wheels that conceal a Brembo braking system with large discs at all four corners. The calipers on the front axle use four pistons while the rear axle uses two-piston brakes.
Toyota has already begun taking orders for the 86 British Green Limited. Prices start at 3.318million yen or roughly $30,035 at current exchange rates. This model will be available up to May 31st.
