Many original components remain, including the engine.
Pickup Truck Plus SUV Talk This video is available on YouTube. It’s a great story. Aaron Morvant, a Louisiana resident, is the truck’s owner. He doesn’t just leisurely drive the roads of America to see the sights. As the kids call him, he’s a hot shot driver and is in the logistics industry. He’s available 24/7 to pick-up and deliver cargo to any part of the country, anytime, anywhere. Anytime. In fact, he received a call during the recording of this video and was forced to get on the road immediately.
It was probably during that trip that the Tundra covered one million miles. Morvant captured the moment, which is shown in the video. It was not as dramatic as you might expect. This is actually what makes this milestone so remarkable. The Tundra’s factory-assembled V8 has not been subject to major repairs or rebuilds. It is not as strong, however it only lasted for 792,000 miles before Morvant rebuilt it over concerns about a slippage in the third gear. This was something Morvant now believes could have been fixed with a fluid swap. The truck was well maintained over the years.
The Tundra has fared well, all things considered. The Tundra is definitely showing some battle damage, and Morvant admitted in the video that he has exceeded the pickup’s towing and cargo ratings on occasion. The only problem we could see with the greenhouse was a tear in driver’s seat. We’ve seen many vehicles with their seats falling apart after 100,000 miles.
Is this the truck’s future? It’s not known at this time. This Tundra is the second to surpass the million mile mark. The first Tundra was a Louisiana model in 2007. Toyota received the information about the Tundra’s existence several years ago and gave it a new truck. The automaker also took the vehicle back to check how the mechanicals had fared.
We suspect that Toyota will track Morvant down on the highways of America if it decides to replace his truck with a new one.
