There are no changes to the engine.
The Toyota Camry is available in Europe since 2018, when the large sedan was reintroduced to the Old continent after a 16-year absence. The Camry was updated a few months back for the North American market. Similar improvements have been made for Europe’s market.
Visually, there aren’t many differences between the new version and the prefacelift. A new bumper and modified grilles are now featured on the front fascia. Although these may seem minor, Toyota claims they make the Camry more dynamic, prestige-oriented, and have a wider appearance.
You also have more customization options. New 17-inch and 18-inch wheel designs are available, as well as new exterior color combinations.
The cabin’s new features are perhaps more important. The new 9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment systems is located higher up on the dashboard. This allows for better visibility and easier use. The screen’s software now runs faster and has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The new Beige and Black premium leather seats are now available in a variety of aesthetics. This will be available along with a new Black leather-like, seat with fabric insert upholstery. The Toyota Safety Sense assist system family now includes an adaptive cruise control.
The new Camry, which is based on Toyota’s TNGA architecture was launched in Europe in 2018. It features a 2.5-liter hybrid engine. The new model year’s engine has no modifications and the large sedan retains 215 horsepower and 163 pounds-feet (221 Newton meters) of torque. This is not a great performance in a segment with giants like the BMW M5 but it’s still impressive that the acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) takes only 8.3 seconds.
The first quarter 2021 will see the European launch of the refreshed Camry.
