The launch of the 4Runner Nightshade and Tacoma SX at the Texas State Fair is a highlight of the State Fair.
Toyota uses the State Fair of Texas to showcase three special edition trucks or SUVs. These special editions add some flair to the already existing models.
The 4Runner Nightshade starts with the Limited trim. Toyota then adds black accents on the front bumpers, rear bumpers and window trim. The SUV rides on black 20-inch wheels and features a dark chrome grille. You can choose from Midnight Black Metallic or Magnetic Gray Metallic as well as Blizzard pearl. The dark interior is continued by Toyota’s designers with black trim on the center stack, console and shift knob. The Nightshade edition costs $1,740 more than the Limited grade’s $43,225 price and $1,045 to ship.
The Tundra SX is a pickup for those who love it. Toyota takes the mid-range SR5 trim and adds the Double Cab body with 381-hp 5.7L engine. It paints the grille surround and bumper ends caps in the body color. Also included in the package are 18-inch wheels. Bucket seats replace the standard bench in the interior. For a Tacoma SR5 Double Cab equipped with the 5.7-liter V8, the SX adds $1630 to the base price.
Midsize truck customers will be able to get the Tacoma with the SX package. The base SR trim is used. It then adds black badges and fender trim to the truck. The pickup rides on 16-inch matte dark wheels. These dark modifications add only $560 to the base Tacoma SR price of $25,550.
