Toyota GR Supra Funny Car Introduces with a Very Long Nose

It will begin competing in February 2022.

Although it may seem absurd, Toyota has a Subrahm that will compete in the 2022 NHRA Funny Car Class. In February 2022, the machine will race its first race in Pomona (California).

The Supra Funny Car is vaguely reminiscent of the road-going vehicle. These cars have a distinctive look, with a long nose and slab sides.

Paul Doleshal is the group manager for motorsports at Toyota Motor North America. He stated that the TRD (Toyota Racing Development), along with Calty’s design team, worked hard to include as many features from the production GR Supra in the Funny Car J.R. Todd will drive in 2022.”

The new exterior design is not the only change Toyota’s latest Funny Car has. According to Toyota, the driver is able to see more outside and the cockpit has more safety foam.

The supercharged, fuel-injected 500-cubic inch (8.19-liters) V8 is required for the NHRA Funny Car Class. They do not have a conventional transmission, but rather a multistage clutch assembly.

A Supra Funny Car can be funny to you. It’s replacing an odder brand for the machine that is competing in the series. Toyota has been competing in the Funny Car class since 2012 with a car that looked like a Camry. It had vehicles before the Solara and Celica were introduced.

Toyota has competed in the NHRA since 2021. The team has won 43 Funny Car races and 137 Top Fuel points. It won three Funny Car championships and six Top Fuel titles. Toyota uses the Supra in a variety of motorsports competitions. There are models available for the NASCAR Xfinity Series and GT4 class circuit racing. The GT500 class is part of Japan’s Super GT.
