Toyota has not yet announced the price of the GR86 Cup, but said that the series is “affordable.” The calendar and cost of next year’s events are expected to be announced later in the summer. The GR Cup will see racers compete for a $1,000,000 total purse and prizes donated by the series’ partners. Competitors will be able to access a hospitality area as well as partner-sponsored displays at the track. The GR86 / BRZ Cup Japan is nine years old. The current version has two classes: Clubman for amateurs and Professional for professional drivers. The 2022 season will have five rounds.

Toyotas participating in the GR Cup in America have had fewer modifications to their GR86 and BRZ races in Japan than the Toyotas. They have the same mechanical modifications as the Toyotas: an engine oil cooler, and a rear differential covering with cooling fins. The cabin is equipped with a safety harness and roll cage for driver safety.
