Toyota will make six cars
Toyota’s Toyota Supra was back for 2020, and Toyota didn’t waste any time getting it racing. The GR Supra GT4 was also introduced by Toyota in 2020. It saw 50 sales of the track-only vehicle by 2021. Toyota will increase that number by adding six additional cars to the mix with its new Toyota GR Supra GT4 50 Edition, which adds a few extra features over the standard model.
Every Toyota GR Supra GT4 50 Edition gets a special red exterior and a gold livery. Inside, the driver receives a brand new race seat with embroidery branding. Toyota adds a passenger seat to the standard equipment. The car comes with unique 50 Edition branding and an attached numbered plaque to its raw carbon-fiber dashboard. An indoor car cover is also included with the race car.
The BMW turbocharged 3.0-liter Inline-six makes 424 horsepower (311kW) and the power for this race car is also supplied by BMW. An automatic transmission powers it. The price of the Toyota GR Supra GT4 50 Edition is unchanged.
Although the car is identical to the street-version from the outside, it has a large wing and chin spoiler. It is made of steel. Although the side windows display the car’s track-only ambitions it is the interior that truly reveals the Supra’s true character. Toyota completely gutted the interior and removed the dashboard to create a carbon-fiber unit. This version lacks many of the creature comforts found in the road-going model. The roll cage is also high-strength.
The Toyota GR Supra GT4 was introduced in 2005. It has been involved in over 250 races and won 36 classes. There have also been 78 podiums. Toyota promises to continue GR Supra GT4 production and support owners for the foreseeable future.
Even though rumors claim that the model will get such a gearbox in the 2023 model year, it’s unlikely that this future will include a manual transmission. Although we don’t know much about Supra’s future however, we do hope that there will be more information from the company.
