This is for the entire production run of two years.

To the delight of sports car enthusiasts everywhere, the new Toyota GR86 was launched in June 2021. The new Toyota GR86 went on sale in the US last year. However, things are moving a little slower over the pond. The order banks for the GR86 in UK opened on April 20th, and closed only 90 minutes later after every single vehicle had been claimed. This is not for a launch edition or the first year in production. Toyota Every single one GR86

The UK has been allocated a car in its two-year production run. To ensure that all interested buyers were given equal chances to purchase a car, the process was entirely done online. However, with over 200 cars being snapped up in less than an hour, not everyone got the car they wanted.

It will remain that way, except for cancellations of orders. Toyota did create a waiting list to accommodate GR86 enthusiasts who missed an order. However, so far the automaker has not added any vehicles or extended production. Toyota has not yet revealed how many GR86 coupes will be going to the UK.

Mark Roden, Toyota (GB), Operations Director, stated that the GR86’s phenomenal response is a sign that it is fulfilling its role of a thoroughbred sportscar that is affordable and thrilling to drive. “Our Gazoo Racing-engineered models GR Supra, GR Yaris and GR Supra have created an extraordinary buzz with their competition-tuned performance. This has helped raise expectations about what GR86 will deliver.”

The GR86 is a 2.4-liter flat four engine that produces 228 horsepower (170 kilowatts), and 184 pound feet (249 Newton-meters), making it one of the most affordable sports cars. It can reach 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, but the true magic of the GR86 lies in its ability to adapt to any environment. We found the Toyota to be an enjoyable vehicle, whether it was cruising home or tackling corners.

GR86 orders may be full but Toyota reminds people that a manual-equipped Toyota Supra is coming soon.
