The shocking accident was captured by a Florida family’s surveillance camera. A driver in a Toyota RAV4 crashed through the fence of their home, into the pool’s top, and then destroyed the fence on the opposite side. The crossover stopped in the street.
You can see the impact from two angles in the video above. The pool is seen from one angle. It shows the crossover moving at enough speed to ski across the top and not fall into the water. The second clip is large enough to show the RAV4 passing through a fence and destroying the barrier surrounding the pool. The scene was photographed and showed that the crossover sustained extensive damage. However, the vehicle was able to stop on its wheels despite having been almost sideways in some parts of the crash.
Police believe that the driver was suffering from diabetic shock, which caused him to lose control of his vehicle. The individual was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. The driver may have sustained injuries in the crash.
The accident did not cause any injuries to the family members, including the young children. They weren’t swimming in the pool because it had recently rained Carlos Lago, a homeowner, said WPLG news.
The family’s home is on one side and it borders a busy intersection. Crash like this are not uncommon. Lagos said that similar incidents had occurred seven times to his neighbor. He requested that the city install a wall or other safety barrier to protect himself from out-of control vehicles.
