Never underestimate yourself.
Toyota offers some fantastic ideas for this year’s Super Bowl. The Japanese manufacturer unveiled its amusing ad for Lexus last week. Or should we say, a short film. Now, Toyota is unveiling its spot for this year’s Super Bowl. The marque focuses on “two game-changers”, the new HTML4 Hybrid, and the female football player Antoinette Harris.
Promotion of the latest electrified SUV Toyota claims it is a “hybrid that will defy all expectations and redefine hybridity.”
She comments, “I am delighted to partner with Toyota in our similar-minded quest to defy expectation, lead the charge sans compromise and overcome adversity.” I hope that this will be an inspiration to others on a similar journey.
Joe Pytka, who has directed more than 80 Super Bowl commercials, will direct the ad. It will air in the Super Bowl LIII’s first ad break. The clip highlights all the negative things Harris has said about herself in the past, including that she is too slow and too small to play at the highest level of football.
Ed Laukes, group vice-president, Toyota Marketing says, “We’re thrilled to highlight Toni’s inspiring story during the Big Game, and remind viewers that assumptions shouldn’t always be challenged.” “The team quickly realized that Toni had lived her life in defiance of expectations. Toni would make a great spokesperson to promote the RAV4 Hybrid’s defying-expectations message.”
